At Areo, I worked on in-house point-cloud manipulation, renderer tooling and photogrammetry visualisations for simulations, technical demos and commercial products.
About Areograph
A closer look.
Photogrammetry. I worked on 3D point-cloud manipulation and scene reconstruction for large-scale scans, technical demos and products - including for Siggraph 2010.

Shape every point. I contributed to Areograph and their in-house AreoPlayer programme by developing projection tooling for point-cloud manipulation and reconstruction.
This enabled me to reposition collections of points using ray-casting and reconstruct missing geometry in scenes like the Dunedin Railway Station.
History preserved. The Otago Settler's Museum was undergoing renovations and had to take down its Smith Gallery, which held over 400 portraits of Otago settlers. Areograph created a virtual version of the Smith Gallery in a touch-screen booth before it was taken down.

Reconstructed reality. I was actively involved in reconstructing 3D point-cloud data, mapping interactive picture-frame content to scene geometry and building 3D models to faithfully reconstruct the Settler's Museum exhibition.

Ideas in motion. I used Blender 3D on a number of prototypes, including a WRX demo for Bizarre Creations’ Project Gotham Racing.
I also modeled and animated terrain scenery and wrote Python scripts to process mining scan data for Rio Tinto mining excavation training videos.
